Who Should Join?

Anyone who feels like they would like to reduce their reliance on social media and screen time overall but is struggling to do it on their own.

People who enjoy a semi-structured yet flexible, harm-reduction informed, group approach to behavior change.

What You'll Experience

Grounding in Current Science
The first week will start out with a mini lecture, bringing us up to speed on the latest research on social media and \ attention span/mood.

Goal Setting
Each group member will develop long-term and weekly goals and assess progress throughout the course of the program.

Mindful Tech Use “Homework”
Each group member will pick one “homework” assignment per week. These assignments are designed to help promote self-reflection, interpersonal connectedness, and increase attention span. This group does not operate via shame as a learning tool, so if you do not complete an assignment, it’s all good.

Group Support
Receive social support as you collectively experience struggles and successes in reclaiming your attention spans. This non-judgmental space is designed to foster curiosity about your pull towards social media rather than create a competitive atmosphere on who is progressing the quickest.

Discord Group
Each RYAS  group will have their own discord server (app for mobile and desktop) so you can continue to discuss new tips, tricks, and reflections throughout the program and after it ends.

Outcomes

Reclaiming your attention span is a process that extends beyond a single month. However, this group is designed to equip you with the tools to keep making steady progress even after it ends. By the end of the month, you’ll have greater focus and self-awareness, healthier digital habits, and an ongoing social support network to engage with long after the program concludes.
